IMPLANTS
Implant restoration
The implants are prosthetically restored either by immovable restorations, for example crowns or bridges or by movable restorations, for instance, dentures
Immediate rehabilitation of implants
All immobile prosthetic restorations can be classified according to how they are attached to the implanted stub
Types of immovable Restorations
- Metal-ceramic
- Zirconium-ceramic
- Full-ceramic
Fixed prosthetic restorations are divided into 2 categories: Threaded and Bonded
Threaded restorations
Indications: In teeth with reduced prosthetic space
Advantages
The individual parts can easily be replaced in case of any losses
They allow better control of the hygiene of implants due to the easy removal of the structure
Easy repair of the restoration in case of broken porcelain
Disadvantages
There is an orifice in the chewing layer, which is blocked with resin
Thorough control is required at regular intervals by the patient and by the dentist so as not to leave the occlusive material and create a microbial load
Use of additional accessories is required
Bonded restorations
Indications: In most invasive restorations
Advantages
Aesthetically superior, as it does not have an orifice such as the screwed one
Use of fewer components is required
The use of temporary cement might be possible so that the removal of the structure feasible and also the direct access to the implant
Disadvantages
The removal of the construction is more difficult
It requires a very meticulous removal of the excess cement during bonding
Removable prosthetics on implants
All removable prosthetic works on implants can be classified according to how they are linked to the implant
They are divided into 3 categories
- Dentures with bar
- Dentures with ball
- Dentures with locators
